Francisco de la Cerda is consultant of Pediatric Nephrology Unit at Virgen del Rocio Children’s Hospital, Sevilla, Spain. Following a four years pediatric residency, in 2007 started working in this Unit as a Pediatric Nephrologist with special dedication to both deceased and living donor renal transplantation, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and hypertension.
In 2014 presented his doctoral thesis entitled Expression and distribution of Sustance P and NK1-receptor in renal tissue. Immunohistochemical study. He has a Master’s degree in Hemodialysis (2013-4), Therapeutic Apheresis (2016-7) and Renal Pathology (2017-8).
Francisco de la Cerda conducted several clinical trials on dialysis, glomerulopathies, pediatric transplantation and tubulopathies. He is member of Spanish and international medical associations (ESPN, IPNA) and two European Reference Networks (ERKNet and Transplant Child). In 2021 completed the ESPN Board Exam. He has published 60 scientific articles and book chapters.
