Description

The Department of nephrology, transplantation, dialysis and apheresis of Bordeaux University Hospital has a medical staff of 4 professors, 1 adjunct professor, 7 consultants, 7 assistants and 11 to 12 interns. We have 2 x 23 beds for hospitalization, 40 dialysis beds, 6 beds for outpatients. All dialysis techniques including peritoneal dialysis are performed in our centre, and most apheresis techniques, including immunoadsorption, lipapheresis and so forth. Each senior nephrologist has a specific domain of expertise, whether in the field of kidney diseases, including rare diseases (member of SORARE), or in the field of kidney transplantation (about 200 per year). Specific clinics are organised for pregnant women, and young adults moving from pediatrics to our adult department. Our Deparment is involved in national and international clinical trials and registries, especially in the fields of nephrotic syndrome, TMA, ADPKD and kidney transplantation.
