Description |
The Division of Pediatric Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplant is one of the reference service for children's and adolescence's kidney diseases in Italy, and the only Pediatric Dialysis Centre in Lombardy Region. Over the last five years, it has provided an annual average of more than 3,800 nephrological examinations, more than 3,000 extra-corporeal dialysis sessions, more than 6,000 peritoneal dialysis, 320 day hospital admissions, and 250 ordinary hospital stays. An average of 12 children have received a kidney transplant every year and, so far. It provides full medical, nutritional and physosocial assistance to nephropatic patients and their parents, thanks to a well specialized multidisciplinary team. The clinical service is also complemented by research activities, which include genetic and experimental research as well as the coordination of national and international clinical researches. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
