Description

The Center for expertise on Lupus-, Vasculitis- and Complement-mediated systemic autoimmune diseases (LuVaCs) involves nationally and internationally recognised experts to provide multidisciplinary shared-care for patients with immune-mediated glomerulonephritis, including lupus nephritis (and/or systemic lupus erythematosus with renal involvement), ANCA-associated vasculitis which includes pauci-immune glomerulonephritis, and complement-mediated MPGN (including atypical HUS, dense deposit disease and C3 glomerulopathy).

The Center of expertise for Inherited Kidney Diseases involves nationally and internationally recognized experts to provide multidisciplinary shared-care for patients with renal cystic disease, which includes patients with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD), Medullary Polycystic Kidney disease (ADTKD), Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney disease (ARPKD), as well as patients with polycystic liver disease. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that disease-specific problems of these patients can be adequately addressed because immune-mediated glomerulonephritis is very frequently past of a systemic autoimmune disease resulting in multiple organ manifestations. Multidisciplinary care is anchored in clinical care pathways and flanked by highly specialized, diagnostic facilities harboured within the departments of clinical chemistry (including medical immunology), clinical genetics and pathology (including specialised nephropathology).
