Description

The Unit of Pediatric Nephrology and Dialysis at Children Hospital Santobono in Naples is the largest service for children's rare kidney diseases in Campania region (Italy) wich has encatchment of 6 million population. It counts for more than 4000 outpatient contacts and 400 hospitalizations per year. Our multidisciplinary team offers full medical and psychosocial services for children of all ages, including a prenatal consultation service. Apart from performing kidney transplantation, but a service of follow up is active, all pediatric nephrology sub-specialties are guaranteed : glomerulopathies, tubulopathies, pediatric chronic and end-stage renal disease. Also, we provide the full spectrum of acute renal replacement therapies from neonatal to adolescent age, with more than 1000 inpatient treatments per year. A clinical research activity is performed with participtaion to the main pediatric kidney disease national and international registries.
