Description

The department of Pediatric Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation of Robert Debré Hospital in Paris is the coordinating center of the French reference center for Nephrotic Syndrome and Membranous Nephropathy and one of the 3 pediatric centers within MARHEA, the largest reference center for rare kidney disease in children and adults in France. Located in the heart of the Paris region with an encatchment area of over 12 million population, we perform more than 4000 outpatient appointments, 1000 conventional hospitalizations, 600 day-hospitalizations and 4000 sessions of hemodialysis/plasmapheresis/immuno-adsorptions per year, in our state-of-the-art facilities. Our center also welcomes international patients for diagnostic assessment and specialized therapies. Administrative and clinical pathways for such patients are well established and provide opportunities to extend cross-border healthcare within the Network. The team of 10 nephrologists covers all aspects of pediatric nephrology, including rare renal diseases, chronic renal failure, dialysis and transplantation. This large clinical activity is combined with a wide range of basic and translational research activities, primarily focusing on glomerulopathies, kidney transplantation and rare kidney disease and with the participation/coordination of national and international clinical research projects. We are also members of the French Rare Renal Diseases network ORKID.
