Dr. Licia Peruzzi is Professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric Nephrology and Applied Physiology at University of Turin. From 1997 is the Director of the Pediatric Transplantation Program and Pediatric Nephrologist at AOU Citta della Salute e della Scienza di Torino – Regina Margherita Children's Hospital. She received her M.D. in 1989, her Nephrology Postgraduate Specialization in 1994 and the Pediatric Specialization in 1998 at University of Turin.  In 2003 she obtained her Ph.D. degree in Experimental Pediatrics at University of Turin. She performed research scholarships at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Hospital for Joint Diseases, New York, and Case western University, Cleveland.

She has a unique track record in clinical research conducting numerous multicenter clinical trials and nowadays she coordinates the European reference networks for rare Kidney diseases (ERKNet) and Pediatric Transplants (TRANSPLANTCHILD) at AOU Città della Salute e della Scienza di Torino – Regina Margherita Children's Hospital.

Dr. Peruzzi is member of multiple professional boards including the European Society for Pediatric Nephrology (ESPN), ERA EDTA Renal Association, International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA), Italian Society of Nephrology (SIN), Italian Society of Pediatrics (SIP) and the Italian Society for Transplantation. She was President of the Italian Society of Pediatric Nephrology (SINePe) for the period 2018-2020.

Moreover, Dr. Peruzzi has a special interest in immune mediated renal disorders in pediatric age, in particular primary IgA Nephropathy and Henoch Schoenlein nephritis, either on a clinical and on experimental point of view. She participates on multiple International Working Groups including the ESPN WG on Nephrotic syndrome, ESPN WG on Transplantation, ESPN WG on Immune mediated renal disorders with liaison with the Columbia University for the genome wide association studies on immune mediated renal diseases.

Dr. Peruzzi’s publication record encompasses 200 scientific articles and/or book chapters. With more than 6,500 citations to date, her current H-Index is 45. Dr. Peruzzi is also referee for several journals, including the Pediatric Nephrology, Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, Giornale Italiano di Nefrologia and Pediatric Transplantation.
