Dr. Rina Rus is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, and a Consultant at the Department of Nephrology, Pediatric Clinic, University Medical Centre Ljubljana. She received her M.D. in 1992 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana. In 2001 she finished a residency program in Pediatrics. In 2003 she received her Doctor of Science degree for a study entitled Effects of handgrip training and obliteration of veins on forearm vessels in patients with chronic renal disease.
Dr. Rus received a degree in urinary tract ultrasound and has a license in APLS and EPALS. She completed hands-on echocardiography training and received a degree. She worked as a visiting fellow in the Renal Unit at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA, and as a visiting consultant in the Department of Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Burlo Garofolo, Trieste.
She is a member of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association, European Society for Pediatric Nephrology, European Renal Association/European Dialysis and Transplant Association, European Society of Cardiology, Slovenian Society of Nephrology, Slovenian Society of Pediatrics, Slovenian Medical Chamber, Association for the use of ultrasound, Slovenian Society for Emergency Medicine, Slovenian study representative for ARPKD Register, and a member of the Management Committee for European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research for HyperChildNet COST action.
Her research interests include chronic kidney disease, arterial hypertension, familial cystic renal diseases, dialysis, and renal transplantation.
Dr. Rus’s publication record encompasses 71 scientific articles and book chapters. With 271 citations to date, her current H-index is 8.
