Matjaž Kopač

Dr. Matjaž Kopač is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and a Consultant at the Department of Nephrology, Pediatric Clinic, University Medical Centre Ljubljana. He received his M.D. in 1999 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana. In 2005 he received his Doctor of Science degree for a study entitled The role of indirect voiding urosonography in detecting vesicoureteral reflux in children. In 2007 he finished a residency program in Pediatrics.

Dr. Kopač received a degree in urinary tract ultrasound. He did an internship in pediatric radiology at the Medical University Graz, Austria, and an observership in pediatric nephrology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, USA. He attended seminars in pediatric urology, nephrology, and endocrinology, held in Salzburg, Austria, and received The Certificate for Academic Excellence. He completed a urodynamic course at Bristol Urological Institute/Warrell Unit Manchester.

Dr. Kopač is a member of the European Society for Pediatric Nephrology, Slovenian Society of Nephrology, Slovenian Society of Pediatrics, Slovenian Medical Chamber, and Slovenian trade union of medical and dental doctors FIDES.

His research interests include ultrasonography of the urinary tract, voiding disorders in children, and renal and urinary tract malformations.
