Pediatric nephrology unit

Description

The pediatric nephrology unit of Limoges University Hospital belongs to the Southwest France rare kidney disease reference center (SORARE). This unit is part of a large pediatric multidisciplinary department of 80 beds including day care facilities. The multidisciplinary team dedicated to rare kidney diseases (physician, nurse, social worker, psychologist, dietetician, teacher) takes care of all aspects of children with kidney diseases from the prenatal period to transition towards adulthood, except kidney transplantation which is performed in association with Bordeaux Children's Hospital. In the framework of the multidisciplinary Clinical Investigation Centrer (CIC), our team coordinates two national prospective registries in the field of rare kidney diseases: children with HNF1B variants and children with idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (PIN'SNP registry).
