The Unit of Pediatric Nephrology and Dialysis at Children Hospital Santobono in Naples is the largest service for children's rare kidney diseases in Campania region (Italy) wich has encatchment of 6 million population. It counts for more than 4000 outpatient contacts and 400 hospitalizations per year. Our multidisciplinary team offers full medical and psychosocial services for children of all ages, including a prenatal consultation service. Apart from performing kidney transplantation, but a service of follow up is active, all pediatric nephrology sub-specialties are guaranteed : glomerulopathies, tubulopathies, pediatric chronic and end-stage renal disease. Also, we provide the full spectrum of acute renal replacement therapies from neonatal to adolescent age, with more than 1000 inpatient treatments per year. A clinical research activity is performed with participtaion to the main pediatric kidney disease national and international registries. |
