Arriving by Plane

The closest major airport to Leuven is Brussels Airport (Zaventem), located about 25 km from the city. From the airport, several convenient options can bring you to Leuven.

By Train from Brussels Airport:

The fastest way to reach Leuven from Brussels Airport is by train. Direct trains run frequently (every 15-30 minutes) and the journey takes only about 15 minutes.

By Bus from Brussels Airport:

If you prefer to travel by bus, there are also buses that run from Brussels Airport to Leuven, though this option is slower, taking about 45-60 minutes.

  • Bus Line: Take De Lijn Bus 616 or Bus 651 to Leuven.
  • The bus departs from the bus station located on level 0 of the airport.

Arriving by Train
