ERKNet Quick Advice

The ERKNet Quick Advice is a fast-track consultation service offered within the European Rare Kidney Disease Reference Network (ERKNet). It allows treating clinicians across Europe to receive expert input on complex or rare nephrology cases as fast as possible - ideally within 24 to 48 hours.

The advice is given via the Clinical Patient Management System 2.0 (CPMS 2.0), ensuring secure, GDPR-compliant communication and documentation.

Clinicians can submit anonymised patient cases to the CPMS. The ERKNet office coordinates the process by inviting disease-specific experts to the panel and ensuring a rapid response. Participating experts are financially compensated through their institutions via EU funding.

Who can submit a case?

Treating clinicians in ERN-affiliated hospitals. In exceptional cases, Non-ERN clinicians may also submit panels.

How is a case submitted?

Through the CPMS 2.0 platform by opening a new panel and uploading anonymised clinical patient data.

What happens after submission?

The ERKNet Office reviews the case and invites 2–3 disease-specific pediatric or adult nephrology experts.

How quickly will I receive advice?

Invited experts are asked to respond within 24 to 48 hours.

What types of cases are appropriate?

Rare or complex nephrology cases that would benefit from expert advice, particularly in pediatric or adult nephrology.
