AIRG-France, patient advocacy group dedicated to the information and research on genetic kidney diseases, is launching its annual research call.

The subject is : « Clinical Research on Genetic Kidney Diseases ».

Reference : « AIRG-France/MRG-2022 ».

The total budget for this research call is 100 000€.

The funding will be attributed to one or several projects. The project teams must work in a laboratory or a public hospital, in or outside France.

Foreign teams answering to the research call must be cooperating with at least one french team. French will be the main language of communication.

Funding will be attributed in two or three instalments, an activity report in french must be provided for each instalment. You are required to submit a statement about the progress of the project and the results obtained throughout its duration period, once a year at least. Only equipment or functional expenses shall be covered by the funding, not financial costs.

The selection of the research teams to be funded will be done in two steps :

1 – Analysis by AIRG-France of the incoming letters of intent, to further narrowing the scope of the research call. To be accepted, the letter of intent may not be modified (Calibri 11) or extended.

The letter of intent has to be sent by e-mail to airg.permanence[at]orange.fr, deadline is May 20th, 2022.

The outcome of this first step will be notified to the applicants by June 10th at the latest.

2 – Those research teams who are accepted in this first step, will be asked to provide a summary of their project of 10 pages maximum, written in french (or english for foreign teams), including team structure, recent publications and detailed budget.

The research teams must commit to give one or several detailed summaries of the ongoing research destined to AIRG-France members, and also to mention AIRG-France on each publication or presentation of the study.

The project summary has to be sent (deadline September 9th, 2022) by e-mail to the chair of AIRG-France (sandra.sarthou-lawton[at]airg-france.fr) and to airg.permanence[at]orange.fr, one printed and signed copy to AIRG-France – BP 78 – 75261 Paris Cedex 06 – France.

The documents will be analyzed by a jury consisting of members of AIRG-France's scientific board. The recommendations of this jury will be passed on to the board of AIRG-France, who then will decide on the projects to be funded and the amounts of the subsidies.

The candidates will be informed of the decision on October 8th, 2022.
