Just Published in Nature Reviews Nephrology: Consensus Statement on the Diagnosis and Management of Congenital Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the recent publication of the ERKNet/ESPN consensus statement on the diagnosis and management of congenital Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus (NDI), also known as arginine vasopressin resistance.

This comprehensive document, developed by leading experts in nephrology, urology, and clinical genetics, offers 36 recommendations to guide healthcare professionals in the management of NDI across both pediatric and adult populations. The guidelines cover critical areas such as emergency management, genetic counseling, and family planning, while also highlighting the need for further research to develop evidence-based treatment strategies for this rare but potentially life-threatening condition.

We thank all co-authors, patients, and contributors for their invaluable input in shaping this important work.

We would like to dedicate this paper to  Stephen Walsh, who sadly passed away recently, to honor and remember him as a wonderful colleague and friend.

Your ERKNet Team on behalf of Elena Levtchenko and Nine Knoers
