Agathe Vermorel

She studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Lyon Est, Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, from 2007 to 2013, where she also completed a Master 1 in Biomedical Research. After ranking 436th out of 8001 candidates in the 2013 National Ranking Examination, she pursued her specialty training in nephrology. She obtained several advanced diplomas, including in Kidney and Systemic Diseases (Bordeaux II, 2014), Pathophysiology of Electrolyte Disorders (Paris VI, 2015), and Nephropathology (Paris VI, 2017). In 2017, she completed a Master 2 in Host-Graft Relationship at Université Paris-Sud with a research thesis on urinary biomarkers for the non-invasive diagnosis of renal transplant inflammation, under the supervision of Professor D. Anglicheau and Dr. M. Rabant. She earned her DES in Nephrology and her Doctorate in Medicine at Université Bordeaux in 2018, followed by a diploma in Extrarenal Purification Techniques (Université Strasbourg, 2020).

Her hospital career began with a nephrology residency between 2013 and 2018 at CHU Bordeaux, Bayonne, and Paris Necker, including training in intensive care. From 2018 to 2020, she served as Assistant Specialist in the Department of Nephrology–Dialysis–Renal Transplantation–Apheresis and in the Pathology Laboratory at CHU Bordeaux, while also working as senior on-call physician in medical intensive care. She was appointed Hospital Practitioner Contractual in 2020 and, since 2021, has been a full Hospital Practitioner at CHU Bordeaux, with a joint appointment of 50% in the Nephrology–Dialysis–Renal Transplantation–Apheresis Department and 50% in the Department of Pathology.
