Guillaume Dorval

He studied medicine at Paris Descartes University, serving as an extern in Paris hospitals between 2006 and 2010 and ranking 607th in the national ECN examination in 2010. From 2010 to 2015, he trained as a pediatric resident in the Paris hospital system. He completed the Pediatric Advanced Life Support course (American Heart Association) at Hôpital Necker–Enfants Malades in 2011. He earned the Diplôme d’Études Spécialisées in Pediatrics in 2017 with a thesis on familial steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (supervised by Prof. Olivia Boyer) and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree from Paris Descartes in 2018.

He subsequently held Chef de Clinique positions at Hôpital Necker–Enfants Malades: in Pediatric Nephrology (2018–2019, Prof. Rémi Salomon) and in Molecular Genetics (2019–2022, Prof. Steffann).

Academically, he obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health (Clinical Research track) in 2011 and the European Magistère in Genetics in 2014, where his research focused on exome sequencing in familial steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (Prof. Corinne Antignac). He also earned the Inter-University Diploma in Pediatric Nephrology (2015) and completed a PhD in Genetics at the Université de Paris (Inserm U1163) in 2018.

His career reflects a dual expertise in pediatric nephrology and molecular genetics, combining clinical practice with translational research in genetic kidney diseases.
