Ana Dovc

Dr. Ana Dovc is a Consultant Nephrologist at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, where she has worked since 2021. She serves as subinvestigator in several international clinical trials, including APPELHUS and APPLAUSE, and participates in observational studies on therapeutic monitoring in nephrology. From 2015 to 2021, she completed her residency in nephrology at the same institution.

She holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana (2006–2014), with Erasmus training experiences in Ghent and Utrecht. Since 2016, she has been pursuing her PhD in Biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana, with a thesis on early corticosteroid withdrawal and BK virus nephropathy in kidney transplantation, complemented by a research internship at Karolinska Institutet. She further completed the GlomCon Virtual Fellowship (Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Medical School) and is currently enrolled in the ERKNet postgraduate curriculum in rare kidney diseases.

She passed the European Specialty Examination in Nephrology (ESENeph) in 2022 and also holds GRE and TOEFL certifications. Her main areas of interest include kidney transplantation, glomerular diseases, and rare kidney disorders.
