Dr. Laura Massella is a pediatrician, currently senior staff physician at the Division of Nephrology at the Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital in Rome. 

She is member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian patient association for Polycystic kidney diseases (AIRP), Alport syndrome (ASAL) and Tuberous sclerosis (AST). 

Her research interests include hereditary kidney diseases, nephrotic syndrome and she is involved in nephrology in newborns, prenatal counselling for genetic kidney diseases ad transition. 

She partecipates in clinical trials on Alport Syndrome and is member of the organising committee of the international annual Alport Syndrome meetings, part of the Alport UK Alliance.   

Dr. Massella’s publication record encompasses 75 scientific articles with an H-Index of 27. She is co-editor of the textbook ‘Handbook of Pediatric Nephrology ad Urology’ published on behalf of the Italian Society of Pediatric Nephrology’.
