He earned his medical degree from the University of Milan Medical School and completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatrics at the University of Milan Medical School.

From 2007, medical assistant at the Pediatric Nephrology and Dialysis Unit, Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy: he is currently responsible for the extracorporeal dialysis and therapeutic apheresis service of this Unit.

His main areas of interest are the assessment of dry weight and cardiovascular status of children on chronic hemodialysis, the nutritional status of children with chronic kidney disease, the management of the vascular access for hemodialysis in pediatrics, and therapeutic apheresis techniques (plasma exchange and immunoadsorption).

He is a member of the ESPN Dialysis Working Group, European Pediatric Dialysis Working Group and Pediatric Renal Nutrition Taskforce
