She obtained her Master’s degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon in 2013, graduating with a classification of 16/20. Her master’s thesis focused on “Therapeutic Hypothermia for Neonatal Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy: Temperature Control During Transport.” In the same year, she successfully passed the National Specialty Access Test with a classification of 84%. In 2020, she was approved in the European Specialty Examination in Nephrology (ESENeph).
She completed her general internship at Centro Hospitalar Entre o Douro e Vouga (2014), followed by her residency in Nephrology at Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto (2015–2019), where she graduated with distinction (19.92/20). During this period, she undertook a three-month research internship as a Visiting Researcher in the Inflammatory and Renal Diseases Unit at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London, under the supervision of Professor Liz Lightstone.
Since 2020, she has been working as a Nephrology Hospital Assistant at the Serviço de Nefrologia e Transplantação Renal of Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto. In addition, she has been teaching practical nephrology classes for 4th-year medical students at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar since 2016. She joined the multidisciplinary team of the Unit of Clinical Immunology (UIC) at Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto in 2021 and became a member of the Unit for Multidisciplinary Research in Biomedicine (UMIB) in 2023.
