Alice Brooks

Dr. Alice Brooks  received her M.D. in 1996 at the University of Amsterdam. The scope of her thesis (2005) was “Genetic aspects of Hirschsprung disease”. She is a consultant clinical geneticist with a special interest in dysmorphology, intellectual disability and congenital malformations of the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. She is highly experienced in pediatric genetics. She initiated a dedicated outpatient clinic for new patients with a (suspected) hereditary kidney disease and is an active member of the multidisciplinary team involved in care for patients with a hereditary kidney disease. She is also active in teaching and is the Lead Trainer for Specialist Registrars in Clinical Genetics at the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, and is also involved in teaching bachelor and master medical students. Dr. Alice Brooks has strong research interests in the genetic basis of intellectual disability, enteric nervous system malformations and hereditary kidney diseases.
