Luis Garcia Aparicio

I trained as a pediatric surgeon through the MIR program at the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona (1997-2002). After completing my MIR training, I continued as an assistant at the same hospital, specializing in the field of pediatric urology. Head of the Pediatric Urology Unit at Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona since July 2018.
I have been a driving force behind minimally invasive surgery in the field of congenital obstructive uropathies.
The Pediatric Urology Unit is CSUR-accredited (centers, services, or units of reference of the National Health System) for patients with bladder exstrophy/epispadias complex and for pediatric kidney transplantation, and is a member
of the European Network of Rare Diseases (e-UROGEN), which encompasses those centers of excellence for the treatment of rare diseases.
