Maria Korogiannou

Dr. Maria Korogiannou is a Consultant Nephrologist at the Clinic of Nephrology and Renal Transplantation at Laiko General Hospital of Athens. She received her M.D. at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in 2006 and completed her residency in Nephrology at Laiko General Hospital in 2020. In 2020, she received her master (MSc) degree in “Arterial Hypertension and Related Cardiovascular- Kidney Diseases” of the NKUA. In July 2022 Dr. Korogiannou received her doctoral degree (PhD thesis) of NKUA on “24-hour aortic blood pressure and arterial stiffness in kidney transplant recipients”. Her areas of work and research interest include cardiovascular and metabolic complications in patients with chronic kidney disease and kidney transplant recipients and prevention of kidney disease progression. She has authored or co-authored 12 publications in international peer reviewed journals and presented oral communications in national and international congresses. She serves as a sub-investigator in several multicenter clinical trials in the field of glomerular diseases and is a member of the European Renal Association (ERA-EDTA) and the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT).
