Dr. Xoana Barros Freiría is a staff member of the Department of Nephrology, Dialysis, and Transplantation at Fundació Puigvert, a nationally and internationally recognized reference center in nephrology and urology. She is a specialist in nephrology with particular expertise in glomerular diseases and renal involvement in patients with oncologic, hematologic, or autoimmune disorders.
Dr. Barros Freiría has contributed to numerous multicenter research projects at both the Catalan and national levels and has authored multiple scientific publications spanning various areas of nephrology. In recent years, her research has increasingly focused on thrombotic microangiopathy and cancer-related kidney complications. She currently supervises a doctoral thesis on thrombotic microangiopathy, further consolidating her expertise and leadership in this evolving field.
