He studied medicine at the University of Paris Descartes (1995–2000) and completed his postgraduate specialist training in general and pediatric surgery between 2000 and 2007. He went on to pursue fellowships in pediatric surgery at Robert Debré Hospital under Professor Alaa El Ghoneimi (2008–2010) and at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital under Professor Yves Aigrain (2010–2012).
From 2013 to 2015, he worked as a Consultant in Pediatric Surgery at the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Urology, Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades, before being appointed Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery there (2015–2021), with a focus on pediatric urology and general pediatric surgery.
He holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Biological and Medical Sciences (2004), a Master of Research in Surgical Science (2008), specialist certifications in General Surgery (2006) and Pediatric Surgery (2009), a National Diploma in Pediatric Urology (2009), and a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of Paris Descartes (2015). He also obtained the FEAPU qualification in 2016 and an HDR degree (accreditation to supervise research) in 2020.
His research career includes a Master’s project at Columbia University in New York (2007–2008) on developmental alterations of the enteric nervous system in necrotizing enterocolitis, and a PhD project at INSERM U1151, Necker Hospital (2011–2015) on chronic kidney disease, exploring genetic backgrounds and nephron 3D alterations.
He is deeply engaged in teaching and training. Since 2016, he has taught in the Master in Pediatric Urology program in Bologna, Italy. He has directed the University Diploma of Pediatric Urology in Paris since 2018 and the University Diploma of Robotic Surgery since 2021. He co-directs the Advanced Course of Pediatric Robotic Surgery at IRCAD (since 2023) and has been active in numerous international training programs in robotic, laparoscopic, and pediatric urology. He also contributes to interdisciplinary teaching in biomedical engineering, bioimaging, AI, and 3D modeling for pediatric surgery.
He is a member of multiple professional societies and continues to combine clinical practice, research, and education in pediatric surgery and urology.
