Michele Villanova

He is a Medical Doctor specializing in Nephrology, currently working under a permanent contract since August 2024. From November 2019 to November 2023, he completed his Residency in Nephrology at the Institute of Nephrology, University of Foggia, graduating cum laude with a thesis titled “Effects of MCO Vit.E-Coated Membrane (ViE-X) on Anemia and Inflammation in a Cohort of Hemodialysis Patients: A Single-Centre Experience.” During his residency, he also undertook basic clinical ultrasound training at the Nephrology Unit of Ospedali Riuniti (Foggia) under Prof. Giovanni Stallone (May–December 2022), aimed at achieving the SIUMB National Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound, which he successfully obtained in January 2024. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Bari “Aldo Moro” in March 2019, graduating cum laude with a thesis on “SNARE proteins in the cerebellar cortex.” During his studies, he participated in an Erasmus Exchange Programme at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland (2015–2016). He is registered with the Professional Order of Doctors and Dentists of Bari since July 2019. His professional skills include clinical and research experience in primary and secondary glomerulonephritis and rare kidney diseases, management of chronic and acute hemodialysis patients, vascular access insertion, and the use of electronic platforms for clinical trials (eCRF, IWRS). He also holds BLSD (Basic Life Support and Defibrillation) certification.
