Beata Lipska-Zietkiewicz

Dr. Beata S. Lipska-Zietkiewicz is the Head of the Genetics Clinic at Clinical University Centre in Gdansk, Poland. She completed her medical degree (2002) and her specializations in Pediatrics (2009) and Clinical Genetics (2014) at the Clinical University Centre in Gda?sk, Poland. She received her Ph.D. (2008) and Habilitation (2015) in Genetics at the Department of Biology and Medical Genetics, Medical University of Gda?sk, Poland. She performed research scholarships at the Paris Descartes University, the University of Heidelberg, the University of Nagoya and Baylor College of Medicine.

Beata's main areas of expertise include 1) hereditary kidney disorders, glomerulopathies and CAKUT in particular; 2) genomic disorders; 3) genetics of pediatric cancer. She was an Associate Partner in the FP7 project EURenOmics (WP2 - Steroid Reistant Nephortic Syndrome). Currently, she is a Member of Molecular Diagnostics Task force for the European Rare Kidney Disease Reference Network (ErkNet). She served as a Member of the Board of Polish Society of Human Genetics and UEMS Section of Clinical Genetics.

Beata has been a member of the ESCAPE network since 2010. Since 2011 she is the Genetic Coordinator of the PodoNet Registry; she performed and supervised more than 5000 genetic tests for the patients from PodoNet, 4C and ESCAPE studies. She is the author of several publications on genotype-phenotype correlations in hereditary podocytopathies.
