Dr. Rutger Maas is a nephrologist at Radboudumc in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He received his PhD in 2016 at Radboud University (thesis: Adult idiopathic nephrotic syndrome. Prognosis, biomarkers and outcome).He performed post-doctoral research at Institut Mondor, Paris. His research focus is on idiopathic nephrotic syndrome.

His current research projects involve studies into pathogenesis of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome and hereditary nephritis, with support from the Dutch Kidney Foundation and the Netherlands Organization for Health Research and Development. Dr. Maas participates in the Regional expertise center for rare kidney disease at Radboudumc in Nijmegen.
