Dr. Manuela Colucci is a biologist with a PhD in Immunology and a strong background in lymphocyte biology. Her research focuses on the role of B and T cells in pediatric immune-mediated diseases, particularly idiopathic nephrotic syndrome. She has developed significant expertise in flow cytometry and ELISA-based methods to characterize immune cell profiles and functions. Dr. Colucci contributed to elucidating the pathogenic role of memory B cells in idiopathic nephrotic syndrome, providing evidence of their involvement in disease activity and response to B cell–targeting therapies such as rituximab and ofatumumab.

She is a member of the European Society for Pediatric Nephrology and serves as Review Editor for the Pediatric Nephrology section of Frontiers in Pediatrics.
