Dr. Angerri is a world-renowned endourologist, specializing in percutaneous supine surgery and high-power Holmium laser. He has more than 15 years of experience as a urologist and extensive training in different fields of the specialty. He has obtained several scholarships for his academic achievements that have allowed him to carry out training stays at the Karolinksa Institutet in Sweden and at the Department of Urology of the University of Miami in the United States.
His areas of interest and specialization are endourology and laparoscopic surgery: percutaneous nephrolithotomy, semi-rigid and flexible ureteroscopy treated with Holmium laser, laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and Thullium laser and bipolar TURP for BPH among other pathologies and urological procedures. He has performed more than 5,000 surgical procedures, ranging from the simplest, such as circumcision or vasectomy, to the most complex such as living donor transplantation. Throughout his career, he has combined his healthcare activity with scientific and research activity, actively contributing to several research projects.
He has also participated as a speaker in multiple congresses and scientific meetings of urology, both national and international, and has more than 250 works presented, some of them award-winning. He is also the author of more than 70 scientific publications and co-author of textbook chapters on the specialty.
He also develops an intense teaching activity as coordinator and organizer of urology courses and as a professor of training seminars at the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) - Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
He is currently Head of the Lithiasis Unit of the Urology Service of the Puigvert Foundation in Barcelona.
