Description |
The IRCCS Policlinico di Sant’Orsola in Bologna is one of the largest university hospitals in Italy. The Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplant Unit provides comprehensive diagnostic and advanced therapeutic care for all kidney diseases. It comprises a ward dedicated to both acute care and post-transplant management, as well as a dialysis unit. The centre also includes outpatient clinics specialized in rare kidney diseases, glomerular diseases, and kidney transplantation. It offers expertise in conditions such as polycystic kidney disease, autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease, Fabry disease, Alport syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, tubulopathies, rare lithiasis, primary glomerulonephritis, secondary nephritis (such as systemic lupus erythematosus), and vasculitis. The Unit works in close collaboration with the pediatric nephrology section to ensure a smooth transition of care from childhood to adulthood. | ||||
