The Pediatric Nephrology and Urology Department of the Emma Children's Hospital, Amsterdam UMC, location AMC, provides excellent and highly qualified patient care for children with renal and urological diseases and is one of the three pediatric dialysis and transplantation centers in the Netherlands. The unit has a shared care arrangement with the Pediatric Nephrology department of the University Medical Center Groningen. Together with the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics a multidisciplinary prenatal and postnatal care of renal malformations is provided. The department is expertise center for pediatric dialysis, kidney transplantation, nephrotic syndrome and other glomerular diseases, hyperoxaluria and congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT). Research is focused on kidney transplantation, nephrotic syndrome/glomerulopathy, cystinosis, urinary kidney stem/progenitor cells, hyperoxaluria and CAKUT. | ||||
